Hi, everybody! I’m Dominique, and first and foremost, I want to thank you for reading my blog! Whether you’re one of my Facebook friends, or a new friend from the Internet, I’m happy you’re here!
So, a little bit about me!
I’m 26, and recently finished up my grad school. I studied Elementary Education with a special focus on literacy and linguistic development. Right now, you find me on my first teaching assignment in eastern NY state! I currently live in Port Kent, which is a super cute little town on Lake Champlain, near the Canadian border.
I’m loving teaching, even though it’s ever bit as tiring as you’d think. The best part for me, besides the rewarding work with my kids, has been having the summers to explore around here (apart from inservice…blah!). Lake Champlain is absolutely amazing, whether it’s taking the ferry over to VT, or going for a swim by the old train station here in Port Kent.
This summer, I decided to start this blog to keep myself on track. I made a few goals for myself.
-Take quiet time
I’m going to be holding myself to writing about each one, so I can look back at the end of the summer and see everything I’ve achieved.
As far as interests, I’m really outdoorsy, and I love hiking and biking, and especially swimming. I’m dabbling in gardening, but we’ll see how that goes. And, of course, as you might have guessed from my grad school choice, I love a good book.
Ok-that should do it! If you have any questions or comments about absolutely anything, let me know!
